Week Three

Another activity-packed week is ahead of us! School photos are happening on Wednesday and Thursday - make sure students are in FULL WINTER UNIFORM (including stockings for girls and a jumper for everyone) and bring their sports uniform. House Captains need their House Shirt for photos.

This week we start Year Six Options where students have chosen to do Woodwork, Cooking, Augmented Reality or Jewellery Making. These extra curricular classes will run between recess and lunch for Four Weeks to give the students an experience in something different.

Week Two

Everyone should be back into the swing of Year Six by now. We hit the students with a couple of challenging maths tests and it was great to see everyone giving it their best go.

Our Crunch&Sip focus for the term is vegetables. Vegetables and fruit are both important food groups packed with a range of nutrients that promote good health. However, only 1 in 6 primary school kids are eating enough vegetables. That’s why we want to focus on getting in an extra serve of vegetables during our Crunch&Sip® breaks!

This week we will continue discussions in health centred around puberty and it has been great to see the maturity shown by the Year Sixes during these lessons.

Welcome back to Term Three, the beginning of a new semester. This term will be a busy one with many new, exciting events for our students.

Our main focus will be on Confirmation preparation with students researching their Saints and learning about the gifts and fruits. Confirmation Mass will be celebrated on Friday 26 August at 6pm.

Other activities include Options, debating, Crunch&Sip Challenge, Athletics training and much more.

We are looking forward to the term ahead and are starting to count down to the end of the year!

Physical Education Term 2

This term in Physical Education we have been doing Flag Belt Rugby. It took us a while to understand the concept of passing backwards but we got there in the end. We also worked on kicking and dodging. As a result of the rain last week we couldn't play so instead we focused on team work by playing human Hungry Hungry Hippos in the hall.

This week we were visited by Diving WA they worked on some of the skills we need to be good at diving. These included pike, jumping, flexibility and even doing a hand stand!

Final post of Term Two

The last few weeks have been extremely busy with Eagles Cup coming to an end and the teams participating in the Lightning Carnival. As a whole, our teams were very successful, winning three out of four of the shields. Special mention needs to be made of both the A and B Netball teams who went undefeated throughout both the Eagles Cup and Lightning Carnival competitions.

Reports have gone home, summarising the semester's work and parent interview have been underway for the last two weeks. There isn't long to go before a well-deserved break so we can be fresh and ready to go in Term Three!

Week Five

Another busy week! We are half way through the term and on the count down to being half way through Year Six.

This is our second week of rotating health activities with the Year Fives where we are hoping to develop the mental health and wellbeing of our students. The activities are planned to give the students strategies for resilience, happiness, a calm mind and healthy body. So far, students have had a go at Pilates, art therapy, music jam, boot camp and team building.

Eagles Cup has been a success so far, with all our training contributing to our performance on game day. This week we face St Joseph's and are hoping to win all our games.

Year Six Update

This past week, our Eagles Cup teams performed extremely well with both netball teams, the soccer team and football team defeating Notre Dame.

Its been great to see everyone in their Leavers Shirts! Students stand out from the rest of the school in their blue shirts, with the design on the back created by Leanne.

Friday is Walk Safely to School Day and both classes are looking at ways of creatively promoting the event. Don't forget - if you live a little too far away to walk, you can be dropped closer and walk from there.
